Active Mark 2008
Activemark is awarded annually determined by the results of the PESSCL Survey. It is a reward for the delivery of the national PE, School Sport and Club Links strategy and is open to all schools which are part of a school sport partnership. For the third year, schools are automatically assessed for one of the marks through the national school sport survey, which all partnership schools take part in. This means that schools do not have to complete a separate application form. This ensures that the burden placed on schools is kept to the very minimum.
Schools received the mark if, according to the survey:
- 90% or more of pupils across the school were doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport a week.
Locally all of our Primary Schools achieved the Active Mark.
Sportsmark 2008
The award for Secondary Schools, achieved in the same way through the PESSCL survey results was awarded, if according to the survey:
- 90% or more of pupils across the school were doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport a week.
Locally 4 schools achieved this award in 2007 / 2008

Partnerships received the mark if at least 90% of pupils across the partnership were doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport each week.
143 partnerships including the North Wealden Partnership met the standard and have been awarded Sports Partnership Mark 2008.
